Summer Polenta returns once again this year to the little church in Šmihel, where the evening at the start of summer transforms into an experience for all the senses. This year, the event will be organized a bit differently—with a greater emphasis on the evening atmosphere, the ambiance, and the view that opens up over the Vipava Valley at sunset. In the pleasant rhythm of a summer evening, you’ll be able to enjoy the flavors, the company, and a moment best savored slowly.

The spotlight will be on polenta, a dish we associate with tradition, home-style cooking, and simple, delicious flavors—yet one that offers plenty of room for creativity. It will be available in various interpretations: as a home-style classic and as more modern meat and vegetarian versions that showcase just how versatile it can be. The flavors will be accompanied by wines from local winemakers, which will add character and a local touch to the evening, while also offering an opportunity to learn the stories behind the vineyards and the glass.
