Christmas wafers, the Lithuanian sacramental flatbread locally known as Kalėdaitis, is a centuries-old Eastern European Catholic tradition. They are available from your nearest Catholic church and shared over Christmas Eve meal by every family signifying a commitment to share both joys and hardships. Together with the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Consolation we did the unthinkable – we altered the design of Christmas wafer, transforming the wafer into both medium and message of our campaign.
