Christmas wafers, Lithuanian sacramental flatbread locally known as Kalėdaitis, is a centuries-old Eastern European Catholic tradition. They are available from nearest Catholic church and shared over Christmas Eve meal by family signifying a commitment to share joys and hardships. Designs of Christmas wafer have remained unchanged for centuries and are firmly protected by tradition, but we made a daring initiative – changed the design to deliver additional message. Together with the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Consolation we did the unthinkable – we altered the design of Christmas wafer, transforming the wafer into both medium and message of our campaign.
