After the Revolution of 1989, Romanians’ migration to the West resulted in one of the biggest national communities living outside its birth country, with over 10 Million Romanians separated from their own. A specific national trauma, with a very Romanian name, 'DOR' is a combination of longing and psychosomatic symptoms that qualify it as disease, perhaps the only affection transmitted from a distance.
