The Vipava Valley is active all year round. Colourful paragliders and hang-gliders soaring about are practically a trademark aspect of the Valley vista. As long as the weather is right, flocks of free fliers rise from the takeoff points Lijak and Kovk. No less popular are the many beautiful hiking trails, which in this season also attract serious cross-country runners. Steep single-track routes challenge mountain bikers while climbers test their mettle on the sunny rocky slopes. The pristine nature of the Vipava Valley provides limitless opportunities for active leisure. At the end of April, adrenaline on four wheels also arrives into the Valley. The traditional Vipava Valley Rally, the biggest local sports event, attracts thousands of spectators alongside its 90 km of racing track.
