Asparagus Festival
A traditional culinary and entertainment event, 24. 5. 2026
Join us for our traditional Sunday celebration of asparagus, flavors, and good cheer! Enjoy a parade of floats with a cultural program, KRAS-NI ŠPARGLJI—a delicious cycling tour, an awards ceremony for the best wines, stalls and a variety of raffles, as well as a selection of seasonal and local delicacies. Don’t miss the real highlight—the traditional giant asparagus rolls!
Entertainment will be provided by the band Dejan Dogaja—for both children and adults.
Kras-ni Asparagus - A Cycling Adventure for All Ages
As part of the Asparagus Festival, the KRAS-NI ŠPARGLJI cycling event will also take place, combining active recreation with the discovery of Karst stories and landscapes.
Participants can choose between two tours:
– Karst Tour (30 km) – more challenging, with an elevation gain of approximately 600 m (recommended for those 16 and older)
– Family Tour (10 km) – recreational and suitable for children
Along the way, you’ll find stops featuring local stories and refreshments, and at the finish line, a hot meal and a glass of Teran wine or juice. The cycling event concludes at the Asparagus Festival venue, where the program continues with food, music, and socializing.
Start of the cycling event: at 11:00 a.m.
Meeting point: JAVA Sports Park, Orehovlje
The registration fee is €20 and includes:
– guided cycling tour
– stop with local refreshments
– exploring Karst landmarks and stories
– a hot meal at the finish line
– a glass of Teran wine or juice
– socializing at the Asparagus Festival
