The picture-book settlement of Vipavski Križ, a fortified medieval town at the heart of the Vipava Valley, is considered one of the grandest monuments of cultural history in the country. A stroll down the narrow alleys of Vipavski Križ and a jaunt to the famous Capuchin monastery are always worthwhile pursuits. The castle courtyard, cellar and the town's main piazza – plac as it is referred to by locals – are increasingly sought-after as great venues for cultural, ethnologic and culinary events. 

Glasbeno društvo NOVA (The NOVA Music Society), based in Nova Gorica and bringing together musicians from across the Vipava Valley, with the support of the Municipality of Ajdovščina, invites you to this jewel of the Vipava Valley. With its elegant square, acoustically rich castle courtyard and cellar, it provides the perfect setting for cultural events.

During July and August, the Summer in Vipavski Križ Festival brings a truly distinctive cultural experience to the castle courtyard, the plac and the castle cellar. Visitors can enjoy performances by amateur and professional musicians from near and far, presenting musical genres and projects that are rarely heard elsewhere.

Before the concert, you can join a guided tour of Vipavski Križ organised by Zavod Vipavski Križ. After the performance, savour a glass of excellent Vipava wine in the unique atmosphere of this medieval town at the Hiša Okusov Wine Shop.

Summer in Vipavski Križ is organised by Glasbeno društvo NOVA (the NOVA Music Society).
