A Wine Festival with a Touch of Roses

Under the stone arches of the 350-year-old Wine Cellar of Friendship and Peace, we invite you to a very special wine evening as part of the 21st Rose Festival, where two worlds—roses and wine—come together.
Selected winemakers from the Vipava Valley, the Goriška Brda region, and the cross-border wine region will present their finest rosés, rosé sparkling wines, fresh sparkling wines, and white wines with floral notes—wines that are perfect for a spring evening among blooming Bourbon roses.
Accompanied by music and local cuisine, you’ll be able to experience one of the most beautiful wine venues in the region. At the festival, we’ll also showcase organic rose-based products.
Location
The Wine Cellar of Friendship and Peace is located beneath the Franciscan monastery on Kostanjevica—a hill above Nova Gorica offering views on both sides of the border. The cellar houses wines classified according to the world’s first CRU classification from 1787, discovered in the archives of the Counts of Formentini and Attems. A place steeped in history that you can feel.
The Wine Festival is part of the program for the 21st Rose Festival (April 25–May 17, 2026). Also taking place that week: a concert among the Bourbon roses with Tatjana Mihelj (May 9) and an exhibition of botanical perfumes featuring wine tastings (May 10).
