Set within a historic monastic complex, the Cellar of Great Wines of Friendship and Peace offers a unique experience centred on wines whose origins trace back to the historic vineyard classification introduced by Empress Maria Theresa in 1787. In the authentic setting of the historic cellar, visitors discover the story of the site, the region’s cultural heritage, and selected wines from historically classified cru vineyards.

The tasting weaves together history, culture and fine gastronomy, showcasing wines from winemakers included in Empress Maria Theresa’s cru classification (24 Slovenian and Italian producers). The tasting can be enjoyed as a stand-alone experience or to cap off a guided tour of the Franciscan Monastery of Kostanjevica.
